
Butte College Part-Time Faculty Association/UPTE ratifies new contract
We've ratified our new contract with the administration and the Board of Trustees of the Butte–Glenn Community College District. Now, it goes to the Board of Trustees for a final vote.
We're proud that Butte College Part-Time Faculty Association/University Professional and Technical Employees (UPTE) CWA Local 9119 members at Butte College cast their ballots, voting yes to support our new contract at the public community college in Chico, Orland, and Oroville.
Remember, our collective strength helped us achieve our new contract. Together, we can continue building a stronger, more inclusive union that represents the goals and priorities of every Butte College Part-Time Faculty Association/UPTE member at Butte College.

Key highlights of our collective bargaining agreement

Up to two hours per course pre-semester and five hours per section post-semester for preparation and grading at $50 per hour.

Up to ten hours of mandatory meeting pay (currently $29.14) for each committee, workgroup, and task force per semester. Up to 20 hours of pay for the Academic Senate and Curriculum Committee per semester at $50 per hour.

All mandatory training assigned by the District now must be compensated at the rate of at least $50 per hour.

A new cap of thirty hours per week for all district-assigned work, including outside-of-class duties, which will require completing monthly time cards breaking down all weekly work.

Cost-of-Living Adjustment at 1.07% for all instructional Associate Faculty and to be aligned with Full-time Faculty for the duration of the agreement.

At least $100,000 annually available for paid office hours at $25 per hour.
