Share Your Story
Sharing our stories as university professionals bridges us together.
When we share our workplace experiences—with each other, decision-makers, and the public—we lay the groundwork upon which we organize and win.
Our stories illustrate that we are the most-equipped to drive effective solutions for the challenges our workplaces face today. Whether you’re newly represented or a veteran UPTE member, every single one of us has a story to share. That story deserves to be heard.
Here are some questions to get you thinking about your story as a university professional:
What is my role and how does it contribute to the mission of my workplace? What motivates me to do this job? What are the outcomes of my work? How is this important to the University of California and the wider public?
What issues have my co-workers and I encountered in the workplace? What did we do to address it? What was the outcome? What did we gain during the process? How did I change?
Why did I become an UPTE member? Why should my co-workers get involved with our union? What lessons can we learn?
Complete the form below to express your interest in sharing a workplace story. Once complete, UPTE’s Communications Department will follow up with you to discuss next steps. Your story will be shared with our 25,000-strong UPTE membership and the public, building the movement for dignity at work.
