A workshop for UPTE-represented researchers at the University of California, Los Angeles. We’re offering this workshop twice so it can fit more schedules. Both sessions are identical, so you only need to attend one. Register for whichever time works better for you.
Job duties have a way of growing. A new protocol, a departing colleague, a project that quietly becomes yours. Before long, you’re doing work well beyond what you were hired and classified to do. But the title on your paycheck hasn’t moved, and neither has the pay.
You don’t have to accept that. As UPTE members, we have the contractual right to request reclassification when our responsibilities have significantly changed.
Join us on Zoom to learn how the process works, what UC is obligated to do when you file, and how to put together a request that’s hard to ignore. You will hear directly from colleagues who have been through it and can share what made the difference in their own requests.

If you’re a researcher at UCLA represented by UPTE, particularly animal technicians, clinical research coordinators, lab assistants, and staff research associates, you’re welcome to join these workshops. Whether you’re ready to file now or just want to understand your options, join us!
