Election results: Your new union leadership & upcoming virtual town hall

Thank you to everyone who voted in our UPTE Mt. San Jacinto College Associate Faculty chapter chair and bargaining team election. Your participation helps choose the team that will represent you in the next round of bargaining and serve as your chapter chair for the next three years. The results are in—please join us in congratulating your elected leaders:

Chapter Chair (three-year term: 2026–2029)

Bargaining Team (to serve until a tentative agreement over wages is reached)

• Santino Labbate, Physics Department

• Gillian Patton, Psychology Department

• Michael Rabi, Political Science Department

• Laura Sweeney, History Department

As Chapter Chair, Emily Collins will work with Workplace Representatives to strengthen communication and organizingacross Mt. San Jacinto College. The bargaining team, consisting of Santino Labbate, Gillian Patton, Michael Rabi, and Laura Sweeney, will begin collaborating with UPTE organizers and rank-and-file members to develop wage proposals and to represent associate faculty in negotiations with the Mt. San Jacinto Community College District.

Join us for a virtual town hall general membership meeting on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 5:30 pm via Zoom to share updates on our upcoming wage negotiations with the Mt. San Jacinto Community College District. We will walk through the bargaining timeline, what to expect at the table, and how members can help shape and support our wage proposals. All associate faculty are encouraged to attend.
