End UC’s Two-Tier Care System: A Behavioral Health Equity Town Hall
October 3. San Francisco General Hospital. Join UPTE clinical social workers and San Francisco Supervisor and 2024 mayoral candidate Aaron Peskin to demand UCSF Health end its unfair two-tier care system. Our critical work for the most vulnerable is devalued. UC must immediately address systemic inequities in behavioral health care.

Our next convention has officially been scheduled! In 2024, our next convention will take place at the San Diego Mission Bay Resort on September 28 & 29.
The delegate nomination period will open on May 21, 2024, and close on June 5, 2024.
UPTE is proud to be a member-led union. At convention, elected delegates from workplaces across California take time to democratically determine the direction of our union, while also participating in training and education workshops about building our union.

This serves as notice of the electronic election vendor for the 2024 UPTE Convention Delegate Election. The UPTE Convention will be held in San Diego from September 28 to 29. If delegate nominations are contested, ElectionBuddy will hold and manage an electronic election. Subsequently, the notice and timeline for delegate nominations and election will be announced.
Pack the Table at UCLA
During our first month of bargaining with the University of California, our union's bargaining team of frontline healthcare, research, and technical workers made our first set of proposals on work/life balance and ways to fix broken career ladders across the state. UPTE members rallied and packed the negotiating room in a tremendous display of unity—and you're invited to RSVP & join us at UCLA on July 18 when we do it again.
We believe that all UPTE members have a right to attend and observe negotiations, and we held our ground and insisted on bargaining in-person at the UPTE office in Westwood. Join us to demand a strong contract that resets UC's priorities and invests in our important work.

Convention Delegate Elections
This vote will be managed by the electronic election vendor, ElectionBuddy. The election will begin on Monday, July 8 at 8 AM PST and close on Friday, July 15 at 11:59 PM PST. Only members from chapters holding an election will receive an email from ElectionBuddy with credentials and instructions to elect their chapter delegates to represent them at this year's convention.
On July 8, 2024, an email will be sent to all eligible UPTE members. The email will be sent from UPTE - CWA 9119, invitations@mail.electionbuddy.com.
The email will include a unique link. To start voting, click on that link.
Following the link will bring you to the ballot, which contains the instructions and ballot information. You will select your options based on the instructions provided.
After you have selected your choices, select "Continue."
You will be brought to a page allowing you to verify your vote. If everything looks correct, select "Submit." If there is an error, please select "Edit."
Once you submit your vote, you will receive a confirmation code, which will also be emailed to you for your records.
